On this page are some examples of my work I created since I started my own workshop in 1976. Most of the pieces have been sold and I hope still give pleasure to their owners, a few are still in my possession and some sadly were recycled. I hope to add to these pages as time goes by.
Three "Rocking Horse" paperweights - a development on from the knight in chess sets - made during the early to mid 1980s. Dimensions (approx) 8cm high by 8cm wide by 3 to 4cm at widest point - a similar design in sterling silver today would cost around £840.
"Horse Box" created for the Exhibition "Crafty Boxes" at Dartington Cider Press, 1981 - made from brass with inlays of mother of pearl and abalone. Dimensions (approx) 12cm high by 4cm square at base.
Created for the "Alternative Bouquet" exhibition at Dartington Cider Press 1988, where it won the 'best in show' award - made from brass with mother of pearl stars and beads. Dimensions (approx) 30cm high by 30cm wide by 5cm deep.
The Lloyd-Price Woodwind Trophy 1991 - made from sheet gilding metal on a Yew base.
Ladle in gilding metal with hand carved fir-tree handle, one of a series of ladles made during the early 1980s. Dimensions (approx) overall length 17cm with a 5cm diameter bowl - a similar ladle in sterling silver today would cost around £600.
"The Dove" centrepiece commissioned by Mrs Pat Stubbs for her son. Pat used to come to my workshop on Saturdays for silversmithing lessons and asked me to make 'something special' for her son who at the time had just brought a power station!
